Angklung

Angklung Picture (taken from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

My Angklung Souvenir
Can you play angklung? I'm lucky that I have ever played that beautifully when I was in Elementary School. My friends and I were grouped about 10 until 20 and then we stood up and played it conducted by our teacher. We usually played traditional songs from many Indonesia's islands or our national songs. If you have a chance to hear it, I bet you're gonna like it much, because the sound is very beautiful. I have a dream that some of famous singers will make a song and then there is a combination of the music with angklung. I'm dreaming that how Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Lady Gaga, Eminem, Madonna, or maybe Rihana will create a song and then angklung sound including in it. It's amazing I guess. Do you know music group from Ireland? The Corrs? I like this group because they combine their music with Irish traditional instrument. And their songs are very beautiful right? Then why we can't make it with angklung? I think it's gonna be great as well.
I took some lines from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia...the short definition about angklung and the picture also. Please read and see it below. And guess what, I have one angklung in my room. It was a souvenir from my former company event. My company has held a Quarterly Business Meeting in Bogor in 2006 and then each guests received angklung. I remembered they were very excited especially when they have chance also to play it. Come to Indonesia....you can buy and play angklung with me.
(Article from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Angklung is a musical instrument made out of two bamboo tubes attached to a bamboo frame. The tubes are carved so that they have a resonant pitch when struck. The two tubes are tuned to octaves. The base of the frame is held with one hand while the other hand shakes the instrument rapidly from side to side. This causes a rapidly repeating note to sound. Thus each of three or more angklung performers in an ensemble will play just one note and together complete melodies are produced. Angklung is popular throughout Southeast Asia, but originated from Indonesia and it has been used and played by the Sundanese since the ancient times.)
